Około 15 tysięcy ludzi podczas wojny mieszka na stałe na stacjach kijowskiego metra, które służą jako schrony przed atakami rakietowymi Rosji – pisze w czwartek agencja Ukrinform.
Na stacjach trzech linii pozostaje na stałe 15 tys. dorosłych i dzieci, w tym 84 niemowlęta i 413 dzieci poniżej 6. roku życia.
Są tam także zwierzęta domowe. Łącznie infrastruktura przewidziana jest dla 100 tys. ludzi.
Metro zapewnia, że na stacjach jest dostęp do wody i toalet. Wolontariusze pomagają w dostarczaniu ludziom jedzenia i leków.
W ciągu dnia kursują pociągi metra. Nocą, podczas godziny policyjnej, podziemna infrastruktura pełni jedynie funkcję schronu.(PAP)
