Około 25 tys. osób demonstrowało w sobotę w Amsterdamie, protestując przeciwko restrykcyjnym działaniom rządu Holandii w walce z pandemią Covid-19. Do protestu przyłączyli się także rolnicy. Policja nie zanotowała większych incydentów.
Uczestnicy demonstracji zebrali się w trzech miejscach stolicy: przy Stadionie Olimpijskim, w Westerpark i Oosterpark. Następnie udali się na Museumplain, gdzie dwa tygodnie temu doszło do starć protestujących z siłami bezpieczeństwa.
Świat obiegły wówczas zdjęcia bitych i gryzionych przez policyjne psy demonstrantów, a specjalny wysłannik ONZ ds. tortur oficjalnie interweniował w tej sprawie w holenderskim MSZ.
Tym razem było spokojnie i demonstracja zakończyła się po godz. 17. Wcześniej dołączyli do niej rolnicy, którym nie podoba się polityka klimatyczna rządu premiera Marka Ruttego. Na placu widać było zaparkowane traktory.
Demonstranci skandowali: „Miłość, wolność, bez dyktatury”. Widać było transparenty z napisami: „Dzieci to nasza przyszłość. To nie są króliki doświadczalne”.
Policja zablokowała wcześniej kontrmanifestację organizacji antyfaszystowskich. Jak podaje rozgłośnia NOS Radio 1, niedaleko Museumplain obecnych było 200 działaczy m.in. Antify. Nie doszło jednak do żadnych konfrontacji.
