The 2015 White House Conference on Aging will take place on Monday, July 13, 2015.

The White House Conferences on Aging are organized once in a decade! This is Historical Milestone! It is a casting a renewed, expanded vision how to serve Aging population in America.

President Barack Obama will be the keynote speaker during the 2015 WHCOA. Many of his most influential, competent advisers are involved with the Conference.

The 2015 WHCOA is a significant event and an incredible opportunity to celebrate milestones like the 50th Anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid signed by President Lyndon Johnson in 1965 and the 80th Anniversary of Social Security which was signed by President Delano Roosevelt.

These governmental programs are essential in the lives of around 100 million Americans. It is more than the total population of many individual countries in the world. The demands for services the Aging population are enormous and growing every single day.

Nora Super is the Executive Director of the 2015 White House Conference on Aging. She has been working tirelessly for months to prepare the 2015 WHCOA and to bring the best experts in different fields to develop better and more effective programs and services for millions of Americans.

There are many positive aspects to the aging American population: longer lives, more advanced medical technology. Many people want to have longer and happy lives. There are also many challenges connected with a rapidly growing aging population in the USA. There are more needs for medical, social and housing services. The Baby Boomer Generation (1946-1964) has reached the retirement age. There are about 10,000 elderly Americans reaching retirement age every single day.

The organizers of the 2015 WHCOA have traveled around the USA and met with older Americans, caregivers, medical and social providers, families, researchers, leaders in the field of aging and other stakeholders.

Several regional meetings/conferences have already taken place in preparation for the 2015 WHCOA. A few regional conferences were organized as well.

The objective for ‘these sessions is to better understand the issues affecting aging population and to better understand opportunities to advance public policy for older Americans and to improve the lives of older Americans”.

The critical issues for older Americans are not only health and financial security during retirement but also accessibility to different services in their communities and protecting older Americans from financial exploitation, abuse, and neglect.

The aging population in America is constantly changing. More people retire and still continue part time or full-time professional activity. They make incredible and valuable contributions to their families, local communities and to the entire Nation. Many seniors are still volunteering in churches, schools and communities.

The organizers of the 2015 WHCOA regularly share information about regional forums, webinars and other options for Americans to engage directly with the 2015 White House Conference on Aging through social media, regional forums and webinars.

The 2015 WHCOA website provides a regular blog, updates on recent events and opportunities for you to get involved.

Many agencies will have local events connected with the 2015 White House Conference on Aging, which will take place on Monday, July 13, 2015.

There will be around 600 sites across the United States that will participate in the conference.
