CHICAGO: Illinois Women organized the Rally to support Hillary Clinton for President of the United States in September, 2015.
Jan Schakowsky, the US Congresswoman from the 9th Congressional District was the key organizer. She invited number of public officials, who play significant role on the national level, in Illinois, in Chicago and in Cook County to speak during the rally.
Among the speakers were: Robin Kelly, Congresswoman, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle; Sen. Carol Ronen, Sen. Heather Steans, Rep. Kelly Cassidy, Mayor Liz Tisdahl, Commissioner Debra Shore, Commissioner Bridget Gainer, Rep. Sara Feigenholtz, Rep. Laura Fine, and Committeewoman Laura Murphy.
These women leaders represent different races: White, African American, Latino. They expressed strong support for Hillary in her race for the United States President.
There was also a group of Hillary Clinton classmates from an Elementary School in Park Ridge and from the Main East and the Main South High Schools who have known Hillary Clinton for over 50 years. They shared their personal stories about Hillary and about her leadership abilities since they met her in the 6th grade.
The Illinois women felt offended by some statements from GOP candidates about women and want to defend their candidate and the rights of women in Chicago, Illinois and all over the country.
Some of the participants at the Rally for Hillary expressed willingness to volunteer for candidate in Illinois and to support her in other states as well.
Lisa Madigan, Illinois Attorney General, has observed that there at least 40. strong arguments were mentioned in the speeches at the Rally for Hillary to elect her as the President of the United States. The strongest are: her competency as the attorney, former First Wife of the United States, former Senator from NJ, former Secretary of States. She has excellent educational background as well.
Hillary Diane Rodham was born on October 26, 1947, at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised first in Chicago and then, from the age of three, in suburban Park Ridge, Illinois
Her supporters in Illinois want to elect the first woman as the President of the United States.
